Unit 8 Practices that I found to be most beneficial

The two practices that I have determined to be the most beneficial are the Loving Kindness and Visualization practice.  The Loving Kindness practice gives me the feeling of letting go of the negative feelings I have within myself and developing a space for opening my mind and soul to loving myself and others. It has taught me how to accept peace within myself and to experience awareness of my thoughts and actions.  As I practice Loving Kindness I am learning to not only invite a positive energy into myself but to feel that same energy with or about those I encounter and associate myself with.
The Visualization exercise made me aware of how healthy one can feel as they visualize something good.  Visualizing brought out the happiness I have inside myself.  When focusing on something positive and meaningful in your life it gives off such a good feeling.  A feeling of joy that is so refreshing it makes you feel that you’re reliving the moment again.  Implementing this exercise will keep me reminded of what it feels like knowing that happiness on my mind helps keep the mind, body and soul healthy

So very true we have to love our self before we can share the to others. It states int he Bible to do unto others as you would have others to do unto you, so I believe we have to experience it before we can share it with others. This is why it is so important for us as health educators or teachers that we live what we teach. We can not take others there is we have not been there our selves. You are on your way to a great journey so keep up the good work.

    God be with you

  2. Lori,
What a wonderful post. I truly enjoyed it and am so happy for you. The Loving Kindness has been the hardest thing for me however, I believe I am now getting a grasp on it. Hearing the way you speak about brings much optimisim to me and I hope one day soon I get to where you are.
    Peace ~ Robin

  3. Hello Lori! We have something in common! I also found the loving kindness and the visualization the best two that works best for me. I like to do the mediation as well. I love to close my eyes and visualize about things. I agree that loving kindness was a feeling of letting go.

  4. You picked 2 very great exercises!! I think the Loving Kindness seems to be a favorite and that makes me so happy! If we can stay in a place of loving kindness, what an amazing world this would be! Plus, we would all be so healthy, spiritually, physically, and mentally!
The visualization is another great one because we get to choose something meaningful to us and then use it in our meditation. If it were just something that was used to focus on, it wouldn't mean the same to everyone.
I have loved this class, so much so, that I have doubted my major at times! HA! : )
    Great job!
